ARTIST STATEMENT:

  Painting allows me to express the emotions evoked when experiencing the beauty of nature. Through the painting process I try to capture light effects of a scene to display a mood or feeling. Capturing the essence of these moments by composing a painting with shapes, color, texture, and brush stroke are the challenges that inspire me to grow as an artist. During the painting process I try to replicate my visual memory with an image that is true to my creative vision. In this way I can share the joys I experience while painting and observing the natural environment. My journey as an artist is an exploration of these experiences.
